I cannot believe Madelyn is now four years
old. To be honest, it's a little sad to see Madelyn and Avery growing up so
fast. I do not have babies anymore, and I wish I could go back and redo
all. Not because I have regrets but because my time with them has been so precious to me, something worth reliving.
although this new stage is hard for me to accept, I am so excited to see what the future brings as they grow. Madelyn is such a great kid, and God has given her such a
sweet and kind heart. She truly wants the best for others and she cares deeply about others feelings.
me, loves rules. She likes to
know the plan. No surprises for her. And although
it drives her daddy crazy (and probably her sister), it is part of who she is and I love it.
Just a few other things about Madelyn:
She very rarely goes anywhere without wearing a princess dress.
She loves sugar- candy, cupcakes and chocolate.
She does not shy away from bugs, small animals or dirt.
She does not forget anything she sees or hears.
love this sweet girl and pray continually that God uses
that heart of hers for Him. I honestly couldn't ask for a better
Wow, it's hard to believe that Avery Kate is two years old today! She has been such a joy to our family.
and her sister, Madelyn, could not be more different, but they share a
very special relationship. Avery copies everything Madelyn does (and
knows how to push her buttons when she wants to), and Madelyn loves to
play to role of Big Sister. It's funny how the differences in
personality are seen at such a young age. At this age, when Madelyn was
quiet we would find her around the corner reading a book. When Avery is
quiet, we know she is up to something sneaky - definitely not reading a
Avery is an
extrovert like her Daddy; she is energized
by social interactions and LOVES the attention of strangers. She is hard
to win over, but when she has made her mind up about something she is

and 23 months. When we went to the beach recently it took her awhile to
warm up, but once she did she was in love and never wanted to leave.
I love this
little girl with all of my heart and I am so blessed to watch her grow up each day.
Wow, it has been awhile since I last posted. Of course, I could give a million reasons as to why . . .
Since the last post Avery has officially become a walker. She started taking steps at 14 months, but since it wasn't her quickest mode of
transportation, she still chose to crawl. But soon after turning 15
months, she decided one day she was only going to walk and has not
turned back since.
She is still all emotions.
When we are out in social settings, she smiles and waves to all that
pass, but when she is not getting her way, she has quit a
temper. She only has two emotions - it is all or nothing with
her (sounds like someone else I know). All smiles and laughs or all tears and screams. I do love my little pistol and wouldn't change anything about her.
Madelyn continues to march to her own beat. She knows what she wants
and will go at whatever measures to get it. She is shy when in new
situations, but she can be outgoing and silly when around friends and family. She is a really great kid. I honestly could not ask for a
more easy going, resilient three-year-old. Don't get me wrong, she
definitely has her moments, but those are few and far between compared to her sister.
spent the past weekend at Berry College visiting Uncle Mike. The
campus is beautiful and the weather was amazing. Eric and I got up early to hike to the House of Dreams while Nana and Granddad watched the girls. It was a special day - the campus means a lot to us - it's where we got engaged, got married, worked and have spent countless hours outside.
We have been talking about having a third child, but a couple of weeks ago both of the girls were sick and I told myself I was done. Then I watch something like this, and it makes me want to have four more, or at least just one more . . .
